Angelina Calls Shiloh A “Blob”

When Angelina Jolie, 31, opens up, she really opens up. The Good Shepherd actress, who only recently started talking about her relationship with Brad Pitt, 43, has given another revealing interview.

In the February issue of Elle U.K., the mag’s cover girl claims that she didn’t change Brad, and admits she’s more partial towards her adopted children, Maddox and Zahara, than natural-born daughter Shiloh.

Interview highlights below...

On the different love she feels for her kids:
“I think I feel so much more for Madd and Zee because they’re survivors, they came through so much. Shiloh seemed so privileged from the moment she was born. I have less inclination to feel for her...I met my other kids when they were 6 months old, they came with a personality. A newborn really is this...Yes, a blob! But now she’s starting to have a personality...I’m conscious that I have to make sure I don’t ignore her needs, just because I think the others are more vulnerable.”

On Madonna’s adoption:
“That’s a tough one…I mean, I’m sure their hearts are in the right place. But the reality is, Malawi is a country…Well, it’s not on our list, because there’s a very limited number of countries you can adopt from.”

On Brad:
“…it’s not just that Brad will travel and he loves kids; he’s a thoughtful, intelligent man. When it comes to talking about something going on in the world and what we can do, his natural instinct is, ‘How and when can we do that?’”

On how she hasn’t changed Brad:
“We came together because we’re similar. We didn’t become similar after…He’s a really amazing father – he didn’t just become that around me. You could say he changed me. I wasn’t planning on getting pregnant. I’m the one that got knocked up! So if you look at it that way, it was me who had the reversal.”

On wanting a big family:
“We definitely want a very big family. It might seem crazy to build it so quickly. But if we’re going to have 10 kids, we’d like to raise them while we’re young.”

On flying:
“It’s a freedom I have always wanted, and as an actress, I don’t have a practical skill. What I do for a living is emote. So it was nice to learn something, to study the manual, read the maps. The plan is not just to take our family around but to lift people who need some help from one place to another, or bring food aid in. But really, it’s just a fun thing. Surprisingly [Brad and I] can copilot each other really well. Without arguing. I can’t drive him in the car but I can fly.”

On fame:
“When I first became a public person it was terrible. I was unhappy and self-destructive. There is no reason for somebody to be getting all this attention just for doing a movie. So it doesn’t feel good…”

On where they want to live:
“We’d like to have a base in the States. I’d like a base somewhere else too. I’d love to send the kids to international school and live in the middle of nowhere in Africa or Asia, just coming in for work.”

On Brad refusing to kiss her while she wore brown contacts to play Marianne Pearl:
“He says it’s too weird.”

I understand where Angelina is coming from. I referred to my daughter as a "blob" when she was only a month or so old. It wasn't meant as an insult and it doesn't mean I love her any less. Let's be realistic...a 1 month old doesn't do much besides eat, sleep and poop.

I'm with you there, but to say that you feel more for the other 2? That's weird. I can kinda see what she's trying to say with that they suffered the first few months of their life, but they aren't going to remember ANY of that, only their lives of privelage. Both those 2 kids have seen more of the world and dress far better than I ever have and probably ever will.

I'm hoping Angelina's statement that she feels more for her first 2 children was taken out of context and/or that she was misquoted in the article.

I only trust a fraction of what I read... so easy to misinterpret or change the meaning when taken out of context
