Ankle "pain"
I was on the treadmill last night, going at 4.0 on varying inclines and my ankles began to bother me.
I wouldn't really call it painful- but it was really uncomfortable. It was the front of the ankles (top of the foot). It felt like an intense strain.
What do you think this could be? Do I need better sneakers? Is it because I'm too fat for my ankles to support me?
I've never had this happen before (but I haven't been to the gym in months! I was running outside and never experienced this)

Re: Ankle "pain"
FIRTST....You are NOT too fat to be active!!
First thing that came to mind...Could your sneakers have been tied too tight?
Some more questions to try to help troubleshoot the pain:
How old are your sneakers?
Did you get a sneaker fitting to be sure they are the right sneakers for you and the activity you are doing?
Are you stretching before and after? How much and how long?
Are you doing any reistance training to avoid injury?
Does it hurt to just walk around when not working out?
Hope you feel better

Re: Ankle "pain"
I agree with Robin that your sneaks may have been too tight. If they are on the older side (6 months being old) then definately go to a running store and get new ones.
Another thing is...perhaps it was all of the fluctuation on the inclines. Maybe do a structured workout...two minutes on flatter, two minutes on higher incline and so on. Or, instead of playing with the incline, play with the speed. I'm definately not a professional, but I could see how constantly playing with the incline could hurt your feet.

Re: Ankle "pain"
Thanks ladies.
I defnitely need new sneakers- they weren't tied too tight but they were old.
I'm going back tonight (same sneakers for now) I'm going to try no inclines and see what happens.
