Ankle Swelling Help!
My friggin ankles are swelling already!! I am trying my best to drink more water hoping to flush out any extra salt... Anyone else go thru this? Any ideas about what to do? I work in an office setting and am at a desk most of the day. I get up for a few minutes every 1/2 hour or so to do a task or to go pee. I drive to/from work [stick shift] 1 hour each way, so my feet never really get a break. Isn't it too early for this symptom?!
Edit for grammar

Re: How are/were your ankles @ 14 weeks?
with my first pg I was swollen at the beginning of 8 weeks- it was terrible my ankles, my hands. and it lasted throughout my pg, I was told to watch salt intake and always keep legs elevated- which did work but as soon as I was on my feet for 1/2 hour would come back.
this pg zero swelling. I only get swelling on my hands after a salty day.

Re: Ankle Swelling Help!
I am the same way and I have noticed if I go on a strict no salt diet it gets alot better. Of course that's not easy so I am swollen right now. I also work at a desk where I am sitting ost of the day so I take a couple of days a week to work from home- it does help the swelling not get too out of control.

Re: Ankle Swelling Help!
I had really bad swelling a couple of weeks ago. To the point where my circulation was being cut off and my feet actually HURT!
My midwife checked my blood pressure and did a Urine Analysis to rule out preeclampsia. Everything came back normal aside from a little bacteria in my urine.
I increased my water drinking and starting eating watermelon and cucumbers (they are mostly water) to help flush my system.
And anytime I was home I was laying down with my feet elevated (by pillows) above my heart.
Sure enough the swelling went down severely. We think I got dehydrated on my trip to Aruba and that caused the swelling.
My ankles still swell over the course of a day but it is nothing compared to what it was.
It never hurts to call the doctor and get checked out to be on the safe side.

Thanks so much for sharing your stories and for the suggestions girls!! I will be sure to keep my feet up at home [above my heart ] and I plan on putting a call in to my doc this afternoon when he has office hours. I wish I could wear slippers all day!!

I had egg and cheese on a multigrain bagel, decaf coffee with milk and sugar and mango for breakfast.
Water and sesame breadsticks for lunch.
Grilled chicken, walnut ravioli with champagne sauce, salad for dinner.
Chocolate birthday cake for dinner.
Not that much salt I think... They were also swollen the other day but I have no idea what I ate then.

Re: Ankle Swelling Help!
See if you can get a box or a step stool for under your desk at work. Bring a pillow in and put it on the box/stool. Keep your legs elevated as much as possible thru out the day. Feel better!
