Re: announcing pregnancy in x-mas cards
Last year we included a copy of the sonogram in each card. On the top it said "Our family has grown" and the bottom said "Baby Xxxxx due June 27, 2006"

I just want to let some of the people that I haven't talked to in a while or the one I just do x-mas cards for to know that we are expecting. I just was looking to combine an announcement of my pregancy with the cards. We don't know what we're having, so I'm not announcing that. Thanks for all the ideas!

I like this one! Thanks a lot. I am superstitious about a lot of things, but not about telling people that I am pregnant. There are just some old friends and distant family members that I don't speak to on the phone that do not know that I am pregnant yet & we always catch up on things through Christmas cards. I think it is nicer to tell them now at 17 weeks that for them to find out once the baby is born. Thanks again for the input.

Re: announcing pregnancy in x-mas cards
Thanks - I thought it was cute. I wanted to tell people who we haven't called (only called immediate family including aunts and uncles and close friends) especially because many will be invited to the shower and I don't want that to be the first time they hear about it.

That's exactly why I would like to put some kind of "pregnancy announcement" with the cards!

Thats a whole lot....You put this in your christmas cards? Actual pictures? Im curious too. I have never seen that and please dont be mad at me for saying this but it sounds strange and I think would be strange to look at or hang up along with other christmas cards. If you sent them to immediate family only I can understand that-( your parents and grandparents). I would have used your avatar pic and photoshoped it to add christmas pictures around you guys.

That is more or less what I meant as well.
Grandparents and sisters, brothers yes...
I guess I was stuck in my old way of thinking , that God forbid you sent that to soemone dealing with Infertility that you werent aware of , how painful that would be.
That was kinda what I meant.....

DH's cousin has been battling with infertility for 6 years and she doesnt know I know and if she received that card omg , I know it would kill her. To see a sonogram, I mean. the kissing belly is adorable though nothing wrong with that and including baby on the way sayings like that is fine but pics eh I wouldnt do.

Re: announcing pregnancy in x-mas cards
last year we got a card from friends saying
"First came love... then came marriage... well you know the rest"
Happy Holidays Love X, X and baby on the way
It was cute, particularly since they had just gotten married a few months before and I didn't know she was preggo yet.
