Another cereal question - pls help
At night I use powder formula. I fill up the bottles w/ water and when DS wakes up I pour the powder in the bottle
Now, what do I do that I have to mix cereal in also? Can I prepare the bottle ahead of time with the cereal already in there or do I need to do that right before he eats it?
It's all very confusing!!

No one? I hate to be annoying but I'm not sure what to do for the overnight feedings.

I never gave cereal in a bottle. How many times daily are you giving DC cereal?

You can do it either way. I've poured bottles of water and then had the cereal + formula mixed together in a container and mixed it with the water when needed, and I have also completely prepared a bottle (water, formula & cereal) and refrig. it then nuked it when needed -- this method was easiest, and cut down on gas bubbles from shaking to mix. This method was also fastest -- just about 30 seconds to warm in the micro.

We did cereal in all bottles but for reflux issues starting at 3 months. Although I never used powder, I would just put the cereal in with the powder and mix it all together.

I would check to see that it's all the bottles that you should be putting the cereal in. Did you find the Y-Nipple?

Re: Another cereal question - pls help
Thanks girls! Great idea about mixing the powder and the cereal together. I will do that from now on. Last night I had the cereal in with the water - and then I poured in the powder.
My ped said to give 1 teaspoon for every 4 ounces. Jack is usually drinking 6 ounces at a time so I put in 1 1/2 Teaspoons of cereal.
I also tried the Y Nipple last night and it was wayyyy too fast for him - he started gagging - so I put the Level 1 nipples back on.
I have to give the cereal with every bottle.
Kara - I have to start giving him cereal with his formula bc he is now 13lbs 14ozs and he is drinking way more then 32ozs of formula a day. So, this is what my ped said to do!
