Another cereal question
We just started cereal last month...made our rounds through rice, oatmeal, and barley. Now we're onto fruit. My question is...at what age do you stop giving cereal? Also, do you switch up the cereals each week or just stick with say oatmeal or barley?
Thanks!

Re: Another cereal question
Ava is 10 months and we still give her cereal. You can switch the cereals at every feeding or everyday. I sometimes give Ava regular oatmeal with some cinnamon or I sometimes give the baby cereal still. It all depends on the baby. But I'd definitely say keep giving it until a year at least. Maybe not everyday, but a few times a week at least.

Re: Another cereal question
I think the switching of the cereals would be your personal preference. My DD has taken to barley so I have just stuck with that. It's been a month since she's been on cereal. I give it to her 2x a day; once in the morning with fruit and then at night with a veggie. My train of thinking is that the cereal is important to keep in the baby's diet. It has iron and other vitamins/minerals, plus carbs which make the the baby full for a while. *Now that you brought it up....maybe I should try oatmeal with my DD.

Re: Another cereal question
I use just whole grain organic oatmeal. I tried rice once & barley once, DS didn't like it. I also tried single grain & He wouldn't eat that either. I suggest you try everything & stick to the one DC likes best. And try to buy small boxes, I have like 7 boxes of open cereal in my cabinet.
