Another chirstening gift question - DH is Godfather, need suggestions.
We have another christening to go to soon, DH is the Godfather and we are very good friends with this couple, they were both in our wedding party (she was my BM and he was the best man)....what gift should we give to the baby?

Talk to the godmother but I believe the traditional Godfather gift is a cross on a chain. The godmother usually buys the christening outfit.

When my DH was godfather for his neice we got her a diamond cross and stud diamond earings. I think it came to about $500. It was a little much but our families are overly generous with one another. We also figured this was something that she would have forever.
We are both Godparents for my nephew and we are buying him his christening outfit and a cross.

I would agree - the godfather buys the cross, usually one that they can wear as adults too.

Yup, the godfather buys the cross and I would also give a money.

We are the godparents for my neice and we bought her diamond earrings. Fortunoff's actually has a pretty good thing w/their earrings, whatever amount you spend, as long as you keep the receipt, you can upgrade them down the road to larger earrings for the same price you bought for the first pair. (For example, $150 earrings, in a few years, you pay another $150 and you get $300). Not bad especially for an infant since you don't want humongous earrings. As they grow they can always upgrade.
