Another closing q? When did you get your numbers for the checks...
Our closing is tomorrow at 4pm. Our lawyer said we would get the numbers and instructions for closing costs 'hopefully today'. Just wondering how far in advance everyone got those numbers and instructions?

The only certified or bank check that you need is the one for the remainder of your down payment. The rest can be personal checks. We got the numbers the morning of our closing. Went to bank on the way to closing. Remainder of checks (title, survey, attorney, etc) were paid by personal checks that we wrote out at the closing table.

95% of the time our clients get their numbers a day or two before closing.

I got it a couple hours before closing  although it was much less than the bank had anticipated so I guess it was okay
