Another crockpot question... minimal prep and no processed stuff?
Can anyone recommend crockpot meals that DON'T require you do to anything beforehand besides dump everything into the crockpot?? (Like no browning of meat or adding something in after 30 minutes, etc) AND no canned soups or packets of anything?
Hopefully not too much to ask!

Re: Another crockpot question... minimal prep and no processed stuff?
I don't have recipes for these on hand, but I make these type of things frequently in my crockpot and they don't use any canned soups, onion soup mix, gravy mix, ranch dressing mix, or anything else manufactured in a test tube
- regular chili (with ground beef or turkey) - vegetarian chili - spaghetti sauce with sausage - chicken cacciatore - hearty bean soups - beef stew - pulled pork and pulled chicken - pot roast - pork with cinnamon apples - applesauce
I made a coconut curry chicken in the crockpot recently and that came pretty good too, though I had to thicken the sauce with cornstarch after removing the chicken. I find that happens ALL THE TIME with my crockpot recipes-- the sauce is more watery than it should be after the meat cooks.

Re: Another crockpot question... minimal prep and no processed stuff?
I am attempting this tomorrow- 3 lb boneless turkey breast 2 Tablespoons melted butter 3 Tablespoons Worschtershire sauce 1 teaspoon of thyme 1 14 oz. can chicken broth
Put broth in bottom of crock pot, add turkey, brush on melted butter, put on worschtershire sauce sprinkle on thyme Cover and cook 8 to 10 hrs on low.
My sister did this with a bone in turkey breast and she said it came out good, I did not have thyme, but poultry seasoning, so I am going to use that, I might mix the melted butter with the worschtershire . I am serving with stove top and a green vegetable.

I make dried beans in my crock pot. 1 16 oz bag of beans (my fave is lentil) plus 6 cups of water, after beans are sorted and cleaned. Then cook high for 3 hours or until soft.

Sounds like my kind of recipe...but they are hard to find. I know skinnytaste has italian turky meatballs and santa fe chicken.
Here's one for beef stew with herb dumplinfs - you could use canned biscuits to make it easier.
One more, Spicy Cream Cheese Chicken

Re: Another crockpot question... minimal prep and no processed stuff?
SkinyTaste's 3 bean turkey chilli is awesome (just add extra seasoning)
I do pulled chicken (rather than pulled pork) and DH makes his own BBQ sauce to add into it, so that's not processed
I do a pork roast, which is just a nice peice of pork shoulder/pernil and a add seasonings, potatoes, carrots, celery and done
I also did a turkey meatloaf in the crockpot (but that does require some prep, obviously)

Chicken caccitore I also made a French wine chicken with about a cup or two of red wine, veggies, spices and chicken breasts (although I'd do thighs the next time).
