Another ebay question...
so I just posted a bunch of shoes. Of course, being as impatient as I am, I am worried that I have like one bid on one of my like 6 items.
My question is-- does your stuff really sell??
And what about other thing? Like stuff that is posted for so little money-- it seems like it's more trouble than it's worth, with the shipping, etc. for everything.
People who have sold a lot-- what's your opinion?

Re: Another ebay question...
You just put them up today? I wouldn't be worried yet, a lot of times people wait unitl it's about to end to bid.
Sometimes if they don't sell I put it up again like 2 weeks later for the same price and they go. It's weird.

Re: Another ebay question...
I put them up at like 7 30 tonight... I know it's too early. The only other thing I have tried to sell on ebay was an expensive piece of jewelry-- and I got no responses. But I was just looking around at some other things posted on there-- and was just wondering is it worth it to sell whatever just to make some money-- even though you need to ship it, etc.

Re: Another ebay question...
I'm usually selling junk that I was going to get rid of, so I figure if I make a few bucks great, otherwise it gets donated. I haven't sold anything expensive. Sorry.

Re: Another ebay question...
I sold some books and found it was more trouble than it was worth selling and going to the post office for the little money I got. I've sold bigger ticket items--Abercrombie and Seven jeans, etc., and for those I got $30 or $50 so it was worth it. It all depends, but I generally don't bother with anything that won't get me $20 or more.
Everything I have put up has sold, but things have sold for waaaaaayyyy less than I had imagined.

Re: Another ebay question...
ebay lately doesnt move until the last day or so of an auction. I think that "watch this item" has really hurt sales. There is no such thing anymore as a bidding war.
And yes if something sells for less than $2 you wind up spending that in fees.

Re: Another ebay question...
I had a watch on an item-- then it went away
I have reserves on everything-- so, I won't sell it unless it gets to a certain amount.

Re: Another ebay question...
it depends what you are selling- but my stuff- mostly collectables goes pretty well- some clothes and shoes
if no one is watching the item after 3 days- I drop the opening bid down- this has worked 90% of the time- and the item sells for higher then I expected
it took me a little while to get my business going- but now I get the same people bidding on my items
so far since friday- I have sold over $200 worth of stuff- and I have over $200 in bids for my auctions ending tuesday- which will end up being alot more- but I list about 40 auctions a week- since I am not working and I am moving and need to empty all the stuff I have
FM me if you want help with anything- I am happy to help
I am an ebay junkie!

Re: Another ebay question...
think it totally depends on what you're selling, when your auction ends(I try to have mine end on a Sunday), if your shipping is reasonable, your starting bid amount, etc.. I've listed some $1-2 items before and I don't think it's worth it at all- too much time to put the item up and not make anything on it. I've noticed to that people won't bid until very close to the auction ending. As far as shipping the item... I do all the shipping labels/weighing at home and order my priority boxes for free. For me, I just find the priority mail to be the easiest. (If it's a really small item, I'll offer first class to the buyer.) I've also had p/u at my house from the post office a few times. Don't worry if you don't have bids yet with a few days to go...you also have reserve so if it doesn't sell, you can easily relist and make some change in your listing....might not be the item that wasn't a hit but something else like shipping was too high good luck!
