Another Gap vent here!
I bought several gifts this year...had a coupon...used it.
So, one item, a sweatshirt, was purchased for my stepdad. He LOOVED it but wanted a large rather than a medium. So my mom goes to exchange it and they tell her she owes them almost $3.00. She's all confused. They told her that since I used a coupon AND live in Queens where the sales tax is different than Suffolk, she owes them money. WHAT??? It's an exchange for a different size. What is that about???

that is bullshyt - WOW!!!!!!
Something similar happened to me - I purchased a coat from the Herald Square Macys over the phone and they charged me Suffolk tax instead of city tax.

Ya know it's crazy... I used to shop at the GAP all the time, WORK there all throughout college and now, I won't even STEP FOOT in that place!

did they ship it to you in Suffolk? b/c then you have to pay Suffolk tax
