Another GD question - induction or csection?

If you had GD were you induced or schedule a csection?
If so when?

Or did you wait to go into labor naturally?

did you worry about the shoulders getting stuck?

Another GD question

Induced but it had nothing to do with GD. I ended up with low fluid. My doctor never considered scheduling a c section or induction due to GD.

Re: Another GD question

They won't let you go past your due date with GD. I had GD with both of my pregnancies.

My DD was scheduled at 39 weeks.

My DS (because I was trying for a VBAC) was scheduled for 40 weeks.

Re: Another GD question

I don't have GD but from what I understand they won't let you go past your due date and will schedule a section or induction based on the size estimate of the child. GD can lead to bigger babies so if they feel that is the case a section will probably be scheduled

Another GD question

I go to an MFM whose specialty, among other things, is GD. He told me that we would only discuss induction once I reached my due date and not before unless absolutely necessary (like low fluid or high BP which ended up happening). I loved that he wasn't pushing for induction or CS due to GD.

ETA: I will do anything I can to avoid another induction.

Re: Another GD question

I think not letting you go past your due date depends on your Dr. I had GD and they were going to let me go one week past my due date before inducing me. I ended up going into labor on my own the day after my due date so it wasn't an issue.

Induced and C but not because of GD. Water broke at 38w and I failed to progress abd DS was born 68 hours later.

Re: Another GD question - induction or csection?

I was induced at 40 wks 3 days. The baby was measuring 8lb 8oz. I ended up with a c-section because I was not progressing and the babies heart rate was going up and down. DS was born at 7lbs 12oz.

Another GD question - induction or csection?

My first I had a scheduled C-sect at 39 weeks...this baby will most likely be the same.

Re: Another GD question - induction or csection?

I was induced for GD at 39+6 with my first child. Ended in a C-Section.

My second, I didn't have GD and went into labor on my own (albeit a week late).

ETA no one was concerned about shoulders. She was 8lb 6oz.

My second, non-GD baby was much bigger (9lb 12oz).

Re: Another GD question - induction or csection?

I had scheduled CS, but only because both of my kids were breech, not because of GD.

Went naturally. Baby was not measuring oversized and was actually smaller than estimated.

Re: Another GD question - induction or csection?

Are you having a growth sono done?

I had one at 38 weeks 3 days and baby measured abnormally small (which is odd for GD but they said I am small but couldn't take chances) so they wanted to induce at 39 weeks. They said my numbers were always controlled and they would have considered letting me go past the due date if it weren't for the baby's size.

I held off till 40 weeks and got the induction. I was dilated and it went well. My baby was not small, 7lbs 14oz so their measurements were way off.
