Another gift spin-off - what's your budget?
If you feel like sharing that is...
I budgeted $30/each kid. Youngest is 3, oldest 19. Seven total.
$50 to my sister, his sister and her husband, and each of our parents. Now - his family - we'll see if we stay within that budget - he'll probably want to spend more.
What's your budget?

I don't set an amount per person, or even an amount in general. I wing it. If its too spendy, I pass. I am a huge bargain shopper. I just know what I think I want to pay for a gift, or what I think its worth.

Usually $30 for everyone except DH.
This year I found something I know my parents will really like so I'm spending about $130 for them.

Re: Another gift spin-off - what's your budget?
My intended budget per child is $300 (my own kids).
For my godchildren, nieces and nephews I plan on $50 each
For my sisters, my BIL and Rob's sisters we earmark $30 each
For my Parents in Law we set aside $100 (as a couple).
For my colleagues at work I try to buy just something small and thoughtful for less than $10 each.
I only buy for my friends if I see something that I 'MUST' get to them.
To be honest - I rarely stay within my budget guidelines unless I buy a giftcard. If I buy a gift I kind of let the fit of the gift be my guide. I'll sometimes go over and less often go under.

Re: Another gift spin-off - what's your budget?
This year I budgeted about $25 a person and it still came out to just over $500! I think next year DH and I are going to have to pick names our of hats with our siblings. We're both 1 of 4.

Re: Another gift spin-off - what's your budget?
There are 5 kids under age 10 that we are buying for... $20/each.
Cousin - $25
3 older kids -$40/each.
1 Secret Santa - $50/each (me and DH are separate).
1 Secret Santa - $150/couple (this is for all adults in DH's family)
My parents and brother - $75/each.
That's $720.
We set aside $1000 for Christmas gifts this year, so we'll probably spend around $140 on each other and then that's it!

Re: Another gift spin-off - what's your budget?
For our nephews it was $50 each child
For cousins (ages 3-10) we spent $25 each child
Brother, SIL, BIL & SIL was $50 a couple
My parents & DH's parents $100 a couple
DH & I didn't really set a limit on each other bc we are getting something joint for the house plus simple things for each other.
With friends, we are doing a night out for dinner..

Re: Another gift spin-off - what's your budget?
Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Siblings: $20 a couple, or $20 each if they are single.
Parents, Grandparents: $50 a couple
Friends: we only buy for one couple and we splurge on each other so maybe $200 for the couple.
Coworker: $20 Secret Santa
Children: no set budget. I will spend less on infants ($20) but I will buy the 12 year olds something brand name so that will be closer to $100.
Pets: $10 each
DH - no limit
