Another Lotto Spinoff: How much makes it worth it
DH & I used to have this "theory" all the time that in order to retire we'd need to win $5M, b/c if you take the payoff it is less, then less taxes, etc. Now we just want enough to pay down all our debt (including our mortgage). Funny how the priorities change
Ideally for me to buy the 2 businesses that DH & I want, we would need at least $7m. But in all reality if we could pay off all debt then DH would not have to work as hard & could get another p/t job anywhere he wanted

I'd be happy with $10M. That'd be enough to help out our families, pay off our debt, and for me to be able to quit my job and stay home with the baby (and have a little left over for the future).

DH and I were talking about this too even saying that with a 1/4 of a million dollars we could finish the basement, take a mega vacation, buy me a "family oriented" car and thent he rest would pay off the mortgage and we would be thrilled!

Anything over the $1 I spent makes it worth it.
To make a huge difference, anything over $300K. We would be able to move with that.

I think anything over $10,000 would be worth it, but I think we would want to win $10mm in order for both of us to never have to work again!

$25-30 million fits into my financial plan. Invested approrpriatley coulld yield a nice retirement and still have money to help others.
It would be nice to have more but I could live with this nicely.
Also, winning the second prize of $250K wouldn't s u c k either.
