Another Marshall's thread

I wrote about this on a different thread last night. I usually avoid the one by me because it's such a zoo. I went there on a whim last night and found so many great finds.

In particular, I LOVE Express editor pants for work..........they are the one brand that fits me like a glove AND washes well, but I can't bring myself to pay want they want in the store. Even with sales I don't think they are that inexpensive. I scored several pair last night for $19.99!

With that said, when are good days to go when they are not so crowded? When do they usually get their new stock?

(I go to the one in West Babylon btw).

Not sure when they get their new stock, but i would always go on the weekends at opening. Really no crowds then.

I wish their plus size department was more than a rack or 2. It's seriously lacking considering how large the women's department is.

I know! I wind up shopping at lunch all the time. We have H&M, Bolton's (surprisingly good!!) and Strawberry and this weird little cheapie store that gets extras from Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and NY & Co. The last store is great, but you really have to search for the good stuff. I wish Marshall's was here since I'm shopping anyway! lol!

I always forget about Bolton's! There used to be one near my office, but there is one near Grand Central I should check out.

I also forget that there is a TJ Maxx on Wall Street. I went once & it was crappy, but that was right before Christmas, so it had been ransacked.

The Marshall's near my house is always a mess, but I go late on Saturdays.

That's the Bolton's I go to! Chat Icon It's great- I bought a ton of maxi dresses there this summer.

I actually peeked in the Marshall's by my house last night (The one in the Rego Park Mall.), but I had already bought a gift from Burlington Coat Factory so I was kinda laden with bags and didn't really feel like browsing too much. Burlington is another good one- they had soooo much nice stuff- I hadn't planned on staying there as long as I did. I almost walked out with a betsey johnson shift dress, too, but I refrained! lol!

Another Marshall's thread

After that whole using dog pelts and passing them off as fur issue that Burlington had about 10 years ago I vowed never to shop there again, bargains or not.

Re: Another Marshall's thread

I am not a big Marshall's fan and there are a few reasons why:

1- I feel like I have to spend hours there, sifting through racks and racks of clothes to find something. There is just too much and it's not very organized. Very bargain basement feel to me. I don't have a ton of time to shop in stores since I am a FTWM. I feel like if I had all day to browse there I would probably come away with some steals, but I really don't have that kind of time (or patience to be honest.)

2- they NEVER seem to carry pants or jeans in Long lengths. That's an immediate no go for me.

3- they also don't have wide widths in shoes- a random one here or there, but I need a wide so shoes are out there too.

However, having said this, I just bought a new winter coat there this weekend. $150 for a $340 Michael Kors.
For things like coats, I do look there- because you can get in and out. The coats are in one spot, usually only a few racks and I don't have to worry about long length or wide widths.
It's also good for clothes for my DD.
