Another mini-van post: 2 Qs (1) has anyone bought new
Seems like a lot of leases and we're buyers not leasers so I was wondering if the choices or feedback were different.
AND
everyone seems to love the the Chrysler T&C but Consumer Reports rates it terribly so I was wondering what gives?

We've always bought. I can't see leasing anything because to us it's like throwing away money. Your monthly pymt is lower but you usually have to put a large amount down and then you don't keep it in the end.
We bought a 2006 Certified Used Toyota Sienna XLE about a year ago. We would never be able to afford it new.
I'm not a fan of Honda Odyssey's because of the price and because of the look of it inside and out. The Sienna's dashboard is better and the sliding door track is hidden.
I was never a fan of the Town and Country or Dodge Caravan. We've rented those before and they handled terrible in my opinion and felt so much smaller inside. I also didn't like the fact that the second row windows didn't go down either. Maybe they've changed that? They also didn't get good ratings.
I know people who have the T&C, Odyssey and love it. But for me, I didn't care for them.
Good luck!

I just bought a Kia Sedona. I am also not a fan of leasing...I just turned in a Murano off lease and I swear I will never do it again. I didn't get the highest end Sedona but I know others who did and are very happy with them. I can say though that the one I have seems HUGE inside, I like that the second row is captain's chairs, I like that I can walk from the front row into the back if I need to (like for buckling/unbuckling etc in the torrential rains like we had this week), and the third row folds down flat really easily, oh and the second row windows do go down.

We have the same one and I like it a lot. When it's time for a new one, we are going to get another Sedona (but this time we will get a more souped up model!)

Re: Another mini-van post: 2 Qs (1) has anyone bought new
I just bought a Chrysler T&C, no lease. I dont really believe/like them.
I looked at the Kia. I liked it a lot actually...but not at $600ish a month! No deals when I was looking I guess.
Honda was TOO much for me, I didnt like the Toyota (and a wk later was recall) and we were actually sold on a Dodge Caravan, until I walked into a dealer who offered a T&C, base model with auto doors, and auto lift gate (the important part of a minivan that you normally have to pay extra for) and it was a step up from the Dodge, at least the interior look was.
All that for LESS a month than every dealership we went to. It was a done deal!

We just bought an Odyssey a few days ago and absolutely LOVE it so far. Our top choices were Honda and Chrysler T&C because of the stow and go seats.
We don't lease here as we tend to beat the crap out of our cars.
