Another question
I am sorry to be a PIA but I want to get as much info as possible before we get a dog.
Male or female? Is either gender better, is it a matter of preference? I have always had males so I prefer them but that is all i know so that is why I prefer.
Any help would be great. TIA

I am biased. I prefer male pets . But... that is my preference. Everyone is different.
In all honesty, it shouldn't make a difference. Just make sure the pet is spayed or neutered.

I was told, not sure if it is true, that male dogs tend to be more affectionate. We have 2 males and both are very affectionate.

all my life i have had female dogs...
now i have a male...
honestly...i have never sen that much of a difference...
personality differences, IMO are primarily with the breed...
Males...well the getting fixed part is a lot less intrusive...
Another factor that may lend into things are where you get the dog...I have first hand knowledge on how that can affect personality
Our second dog was a puppy store dog (dad didn't know better)...and BOY did that have a difference...the dog was a tad on the She-devil side...
A lot of people feel that the female dogs are more dominant, protective ....

My female dogs have been more affectionate than my male dog. I really think it has to do with the breed more than the sex. JMO.
