Another REA agent question
Sorry to keep posting about this stuff..I'm just a bit confused
So we went to the open house I posted about and the REA did ask us to sign something, which I did. So if she were to show us more homes, she is still technically a "seller's agent" until I sign something saying we are using her exclusively and she is our buyer's agent, is that correct?
Will agents typically show people homes without them signing anything? I'm assuming she would make her $$ off of the sale price if we bought a house she showed us?
Are there any negatives to using an agent like this (besides the fact that she is working for the seller)?
Thanks!

Re: Another REA agent question
We used one agent who showed us several houses. We never had to sign anything nor pay her. She gets a cut of the selling price of the house.

The negative is that the REA is a seller's agent so they are not necessarily looking out for your interest.
They don't have an obligation to you. It will depend on the REA how honest they are with you.
With that said it will all depend on the individual agent. With worked a seller's agent that turned out to be really honest and we trusted him completely.

Re: Another REA agent question
Techincally, you should sign that form for any house you see with the agent (or any agent). It is basically saying you acknowledge he/she works for the seller. Most agents aren't too diligent about doing that though.
If you hire someone as a buyer's agent you will sign a contract with that agent. It would be a differnt form than the discolsure you signed at the OH.
