Another rice cereal question...
When should I give it to her... morning, afternoon, or evening?
Do I BF her 1st? or let her try it on an empty stomach?
I'm clueless!  I never got instructions from the Ped, she just told me to start her on cereal so she can get use to swallowing and eating off the spoon, etc. But she never told me any detail other then that!

Does she get constipated? I'd do the oatmeal if she does.
We did it the first time at dinner time and did that for a while. Make it very thin at first and then work on making it thicker if she likes it thicker. We'd give it first, then give him a bottle of formula.
Now, he is almost 6 months old and he gets cereal before his second bottle in the morning and that's it. But we didn't switch that til he started on the fruits and veggies.

My doctor was adamant about us giving cereal, fruit, veggies after a bottle/breastfeeding...she feels that at this age it is a supplementary thing and should not take the place of a regular feeding...I try to do this as much as I can, but sometimes I feed her when it is convenient...

Chances are she won't let you give it to her on an empty stomach, she'll be screaming for a bottle!! I usually prepare the bottle, then pour a couple ounces of the formula into the cereal and set it aside. When she's done with her bottle, she eats the cereal. I started out with just dinner time then gradually gave it to her for breakfast and dinner.

We alternate between before a bottle and after. Depends on how hungry he is.
When hes very hungry it doesnt work.
Sometimes I try 45 minutes after a bottle and he will take it....or about 15 minutes before one and follow up with the bottle ( that seems to work best for us)
