Another shoe question for when they first start walking

We took DD to get measured today as she's walking all over now, and got her her first pair of Stride Rite walkers. They're the full shoes, not sandals, they didn't have any sandals in her size, unfortunately.

Ok, so is she supposed to wear the shoes when she's walking around in the house all the time for support? Or is she supposed to still be barefoot at home and wear the shoes just when we're out & about somewhere, kind of like where we'd wear shoes, she'd wear shoes?

I wasn't ready for this milestone yet, obviously!

Oh, and I knew she had thick feet. She's a 4 double-wide

We had Cailen wear them around the house the first few days to get used to it, but after that we let him be barefoot in the house....

When we had DS measured, they told us barefoot in the house and the shoes for out and about.

At daycare, they don't wear shoes though.

When Troy started walking, I would only have him wear shoes when we were out and about (still do). At home he used to have slippers (more like booties), but when he started walking I stopped putting them on b/c they had no skip/slip grips on the bottom.

When it was cooler out, I had just socks on him at home-now he's primarily barefoot.

His feet sweat SO bad when he as shoes and socks on.

I'd just put them on her when she'll be out and about. As you said, just as you would for yourself.

Thanks everyone, that's what I was figuring. I just love naked baby feet in the summer
