Another Spinoff of Santa post... Any nice silly holiday memories??
Reading the santa post made me think of a few silly things that happened during christmas as a child.
1-my mother would give me money every year to do my shooping and i go to split it up and buy what i wanted for who i wanted. every year i would get my brother a shirt so one year he said "margaret (that my sister) told me you got me a shirt" i got so mad i started crying and said "yeah but i bet she didn't tell you what color" I then went and returned her gift. needless to say she never told him and i felt so bad that i cry all day on christmas cause i didn't have a gift for my sister.
2 - same brother pestered me all year and said what i bad girl i was and that come christmas time i was lucky if santa would leave me .50 cents. well christmas morning came and there was this huge package from santa. i opened box after box and this went on for ever until i came upon a little jewlery box and was so happy cause i thought is was something pretty and shiny. Well it was shiny alright, it was 2 quarters. i cried and cried cause santa thought that i was a bad girl!!!! (my brother was punished for the next month )

too many- and we have them all on video-
my personal favorite is me all involved in my gifts- and my brother just got a nerf football- he looked at me, looked at my Dad- who was filming- looked back at me- then my Dad- then hit me in the head with it
my sister ate wrapping paper every year from 1 to 3

Re: Another Spinoff of Santa post... Any nice silly holiday memories??
there are alot...but every year when I was little and we got back from Christmas Day at my Grandmas, my father would say.."oh i think Santa left something else in the trunk of the car for you guys" and he would go out to the trunk and sure enough there was another small present for each of us (we are 5)....It is such a nice memory for me because I lost my father when I was 15 so thinking about it always makes me feel so blessed that he did things like that....
ETS..oh and also our huge Great dane used to eat the tinsel off the tree every year....
