Another stroller question...
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm too lazy to look it up
If you plan to use your stroller mainly for walks around the block, the park & shopping trips - what brand/model did you register for?
I don't run or do many trips to the city or rough terrain so I need some decent recommendations for a basic suburban life
Oh & if you & you're dh are tall (5'9" +) did you find a good model height-wise? TIA!

Re: Another stroller question...
I bought my DD's stroller for walks around the hood or the mall... mostly sidewalks and roadway- not rough terrain at all. We went with the Graco Metrolite stroller. It is pretty light, easy to manuver and DD seems very comfy in it. Since #2 is coming when DD will only be 14 months old, I plan on purchasing the Graco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller.
Here's DD's stroller:
ETA: I am 5'2" and DH is 5'9" so I don't know anything about the comfort level for taller people. Sorry!

Re: Another stroller question...
We registered for the Baby Jogger City Mini. I am 5'9" and dh is 6'3". It was comfortable for us in the store. The woman at BBB recommended it because it was sturdy and light. She said that it will still be light and easy to use when the baby gets bigger.

Us too and we got it! I'm short, but i've read reviews where people have said it's very comfy for those who are taller too. It's very light but sturdy and so easy to fold.

Re: Another stroller question...
meliss - you know how tall dave is (6'4 and 1/2) - we got the Graco Quattro Tour Sport....he was VERY opinionated on the 'fold' of it and liked the height - he didn't feel hunched over and with me as short as I am - i didn't feel like i was reaching UP....
when we were in niagara last december - i asked a lot of moms with strollers the brand names and the ones having NO trouble with the slush/snow/ice were all using Graco's - that sold me for sure!

Re: Another stroller question...
Did you register for a snap n go? DS is 5 months old and that's what I've been using. It's great for running errands, trips to the mall, etc. I also haven't had a problem using it for walks around the neighborhood. We have the Peg Perego Pliko P3 to use once DS outgrows the infant car seat. I haven't used it yet b/c it's so much easier to just transfer the car seat to the snap n go and not have to worry about waking DS up.

Awesome - thanks for the tip!! We're both tall, so I really want something comfortable for the 2 of us. I'll check that one out too

I've heard the same thing about the snap-in infant seats, so I'm getting a Graco Snugride & it's stroller frame to start out with. I just can't decide what to get for when he's older...
Thanks!

We registered for the Chicco Cortina in Discovery. My DH is 5'11 and I am 5'2. The handlebar adjusts. I liked it because it felt very sturdy and durable. It's easy to fold too.

My tall friends (she's 5'11", he's 6'3") recommended the Maclaren Techno - they are NYC dwellers and walk everywhere.
We got the Graco Vie4 and so far it's comfortable pushing around the den - LOL!! I like the way it folds/unfolds and had adjustable height handle (DH is 6'5" and I'm over a foot shorter than he is).

You know how tall I am and DH is a couple inches taller than me.
We registered for the Chicco Cortina stroller. The handle is adjustable based on height which I love and it is easy to fold.
We also got the Maclaren Triumph for later on.

Re: Another stroller question...
The Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe is an AWESOME stroller. I have one for DS and since then they have come up with MANY different models/colors. It is the smoothest ride. Has compartments, the basket underneath is perfect size and its really comfy for the baby. Recently, ours got STOLEN at Carmines in the city...long story....and I had to shop for a new stroller. I tried EVERY STROLLER IN BRU (in Manhattan, mind you!) and I still liked this one best. I use it for everything, unless I am just doing a quick run in somewhere, then I use the umbrella stroller (DS is 2 now though).
For this baby, I am just getting the snap and go...or whatever its called... ...that the infant seat snaps into because its lightweight and I can use that for quick "run ins" when I don't feel like lugging the big one.
HTH!

Re: Another stroller question...
im 5' and dh is 5'11 so theres quite a big height difference.. we got the Peg Perego Plinko Switch.. i absolutely LOOOOVE IT and cant wait to use it!!!
the handle bars do extend a bit but DH doesnt seem to have a problem with it at all and loves it just asmuch as i do.
its super light weight and easy to fold doesnt take up much room since it doesnt fold like a regular stroller.
our uses are the same that you were saying walks around the town, shopping, malls, in and out of the car alot so it was important to be lightweight and easy to move in and out of the car. also LOOVE that i can face the baby!
