Anthem of the Seas

We're just about to book a cruise on the anthem of the seas for March 2017. Has anyone ever sailed her? I've been on 7 cruises but never RCCL and never with a 2 year old (turning 3 on the cruise) and an 18 month old! IL's will be joining us so we'll have some help with the kids. Ahh I can't wait! I haven't been on a cruise, or a real vacation, since I was pregnant with my first. After the crappy year we've had, we need this bad! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

We're going on August 20th so when we get back I'll let you know how it was. Word of advice - if you are booked for Dynamic Dining reserve your restaurants AS SOON AS YOU CAN!! One thing that I hate is all of the reservations that are needed. Your kids are little so you may not have to worry about entertainment or activities but those also need to be reserved.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Haven't been on Anthem, but on Oasis - it was a beautiful ship and everything on RC was very well done. One thing I would make sure you do (because I'm sure it would be the same) is to book any shows you want to see asap. They fill up fast and you can always decide not to go, but it's hard to get in to some of them without a reserved time.

I've heard this! I'm going to be stalking every day to see if we're able to book reservations. Dynamic dining was the only option left. We'll have to link our booking with my IL's so we can get a table together.

Oy a whole week with my IL's Chat Icon Chat Icon

With kids it's a little hard. They don't allow diapers in the pools and they watch and tell you so. There was a very small splash pad/pool for diapers. Lots of people took the diapers off to go in the big pools. For kids of all ages. I didn't b/c I imagined my kid pooping lol. I think we did the oasis. We've only done RC but it was great. Even with the kids. We stayed on the boat for all ports but 1 b/c we had already been to them. And it was great. We got to do everything with no waits

I did the 3 nt cruise to nowhere in March with DH. The ship is beautiful. The view from Two70 is awesome - if you go to the shows there, be sure to get there early. We saw Spectra's Cabaret - it was interesting Chat Icon but definitely innovative. There was also a screen demo (i forgot what it was listed as in the compass) where they demonstrated how the screens in Two70 can move and what they can do, which was pretty cool. We did not see any of the shows in the main theater. The Music Hall had some good live music but I always felt it was too crowded.
We didn't do iFly or North Star cause we couldn't get reservations and I wasn't wasting my 3 days waiting on line, lol (never mind that it was crazy cold out too).
We didn't do any of the specialty dining and, honestly, I was sorta disappointed in the food and service in the restaurants we went to (American Icon and Chic). Sucks that you have to pay the upcharge now to get decent food on a cruise.
The Seaplex is cool - we watched a trapeze class and adult dodgeball and did bumper cars another night. The escape room looked interesting but we didn't get a chance to try.
There was a ton of stuff we didn't get to do in the 3 days so I'm sure you won't find any issue with keeping busy during your vacation.
Enjoy!!

I knew about swim diapers not being allowed. DD1 is close to being potty trained so I hope she will be completely in the next 7 months lol.

We're most likely staying onboard at Nassau. BTDT and don't care to do it again. We're definitely getting off the ship at Port Canaveral because DH's family lives 20 minutes from there and this will give us the chance to see them. I can't wait for the private island!
