Does anyone know if low doese Anti-depressant pills can be used while BF'ing?

i was told that zolloft was the better anti depressant to be on if bfing, but that there still were risks. you shoudl consult with your doctor if you have questions.

if you're talking about an SSRI (prozac, zoloft, paxil, celexa, lexapro), studies of breastmilk show very small concentrations of the drug and no real adverse effects to the baby. much less is known about the SNRIs (effexor, cymbalta) and wellbutrin, and i would lean against using those meds.
having said that, i always do a risk/benefit analysis with each individual patient before making a decision. i would speak to your doctor about it and have him/her review the available evidence with you so you can make an informed decision.
