Antibiotics when pregnant
So I have been really sick, in bed, with a horrible cold since Saturday night. I can't take it anymore. My OB said I could go to my PCP if I feel it getting worse and if I am not getting enough oxygen neither is the baby. She said I should be put on antibiotics maybe. i thought antibiotics were really bad in the first trimester??? I don't know what to do but I am not getting ANY better and I am taking such good care of myself.  She mentioned zithromax or something. Has anyone been on antibiotics when pregnant or suffered from a cold like this???

When I was preggo - I had to go on antibiotics twice. Once in the 1st and one in the 3rd trimester. Zithromax is ok frm what I read but my primary care went with something else instead (I can't take Zithro anyway - makes me stomach sick). MY ob just said to run any meds past them before taking them and it is much worse to be very sick than to take meds.

I took Zithromax (Z-Pack) right in the beginning of my pregnancy. They told me it was safe to take. I love when they prescribe that for me - it totally kicks butt within a day or so! Feel better!

I am taking amoxicillin now.. I am in my 1st trimester.
