Any bicycle riders?
I want to get a bike to ride the 7 miles to work when it's nice out.
I don't need anything fancy (or super expensive)- but I'm not sure what to get...DH says I should go to a bike shop, but I was thinking target 
My BIL was willing to give me a Gary Fisher bike that just needed a new chain- but he said he bought it off someone that stole it from a crackhead, so DH won't let me take it. lol.
Anyone have any suggestions?

DH just bought me a schwinn from Toys R Us - I love it  I needed a starter bike though, it's been over 20 years since I rode a bike!

I have been riding a Gary Fisher for 6 years now and I love it. Plus it didn't break the bank at all.
Go to Sunrise Cyclery on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park.
Invest in a decent bike. You shouldn't have to pay more than $500. It'll be much safer than anything from Target and will last you for years!

I got mine for $60 at Target. Hasn't done me wrong yet. I even rode 30 miles for the MS Bike Tour on it. My butt hurt but that was about it

DH and I just invested in new bikes back in March. He got a Gary Fisher and I got a Trek. We went to Brands in Wantagh. My bike was like $350.

Even inexpensive good bikes are expensive to me. I've been saying for 3 years that I want one. Maybe I'll break down this Spring and get one.
