ANY CPA or Tax Guru's....

So if you qualify for EIC, Have a child, over 10,000 in Mortgage Interest along with other things itemized.. etc is it possible to get an amount refunded that is more that what you paid in?

And I mean beyond the EIC credit.

I just did my taxes using taxslayer.com since it's free for military but the amount of my refund is a pretty large amount and I know I'm getting money back but I'm trying to figure out if it's our regular amount which I will be happy with or if its possible its this much larger amount

I understand now it's due to his Tax Free Special Duty Combat Pay since it's not included in some things in included in what we itemize.
