Any English teachers or anyone good with Shakespeare?
I am DESPERATE....I have an 8 page paper to do, my teacher is OLD and gives no direction. He said to do it on any Shakespeare comedy (or comedies) and on any topic.....UGH I am the type of person that needs direction! I have no idea what type of topic to choose that can make 8 pages. I am a fast worker, I get papers done in no time...but this has me stumped. I don't know what to do, and don't even ask me when it's due....way too soon

Well, your professor is actually giving you a lot of leeway with picking any comedy and any topic. I was an English major and I took some extra Shakespeare classes because they were very interesting. I didn't focus much on the comedies. I would love to help but I am not sure where to start. I was in school before there was a lot on the internet, so the library was a starting point for all my papers. I would still recommend going to a college library and seeing what the Shakespeare scholars have written about.

How about doing it on a Mid-Summer Night's Dream? You can compare and contrast the real and imaginary worlds and the impact each have on the characters...
ETA - If you like the idea, I can formulate a question for you

I was going to suggest A Midsummer Night's Dream as well. As far as Shakespeare plays go, it's a pretty quick read.
You also might want to look into The Taming of the Shrew - it's another quick read and there is a lot of juicy gender-role stuff to write about there.
