Any experience with 7dpo progesterone testing? I have a Q...
So, last week (before I even ovulated) my doctor gave me a prescription for this and told me to go on Friday 1/15. I actually didn't O until Monday, so Friday would only be 4dpo. The lab is closed Sunday and Monday, so my options are to get the bloodwork on either 5 or 8dpo. Which one is better for the progesterone test to be most accurate??
I tried calling my doctor just before, but was placed on hold for a very long time, and I had to hang up. I'll call back later on during the afternoon, but I was just wondering if anyone found themselves in a similar situation...

8DPO is better. I am going for the progesterone test this Sat. and it will be exactly 1 week after I ovulated and had the IUI. If there is a progesterone issue they can usually start you on the supplements at 9DPO so I would make my appt. for 8DPO.

Yeah, I would say 8 also, but check with dr. Your progesterone usually peaks at day 7, but I would think it would still be on the high side day 8--it gradually falls after it peaks.
My dr sent me for progesterone levels every other day from 1 dpo to 7 dpo to see how it was increasing, but it seems most dr's send patients only once.

Why do Doc's assume that everyone has 28-day cycles, so they automatically write Rx for CD21 and assume its 7DPO?
I agree with the other girls though, change your appt for 7 or 8DPO.

Thanks girls!!
I got in touch with one of the doctors in the practice and she said since we were only testing for whether or not ovulation actually took place, that it is not too early to do it tomorrow.
That actually works out better for me because DH has to...uhhh...take care of his "sample" tomorrow morning and wants me as far away from the house as possible!
