Any feedback on The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell?
I'm anxious to read it and was wondering if anyone has some thoughts about it.

I was disappointed in it, but as much as I loved SATC as a show, C. Bushnell's books never do it for me.
It is a very high school-ish story and nothing about the main character made her ring true as Carrie Bradshaw to me.

I just started it. I def. understand what you mean. I already have that feeling that it isn't going to be what I expected.

It's def. different than the series. I just feel like it's more geared towards teenage girls. I actually almost walked out of BN bc I couldn't find it but on my way out I asked someone and he told me it was in the teen section...I should have known!

Hated it. Reminded me of a 1980's after school special. The main character wasn't very Carrie-ish, or as clever as the character from the show.

ITA. I think I may have liked it more if it wasn't supposed to be "Carrie Bradshaw". There was nothing about this character that made me think this is Carrie. Not to mention the story was VERY juvenile.

The best part of this book was the ending because you knew who she met...that made me LOL...the rest..I was just waiting for it to be good...
