Any great london broil recipes?
I feel like I have made london broil so many times and never really like it. Marinated, grilled, broiled. Always tastes tough to me. Any awesome recipes?

Re: Any great london broil recipes?
Here's my tried and true!
2.5 lbs top round roast london broil 1/2 cup olive oil 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce 1/4 cup honey 3 TB chopped fresh rosemary 1.5 TB coarsely ground black pepper 1 tsp. salt 6 cloves garlic, minced
Score meat on both sides making shallow, diagonal cuts about 1/4 inch deep at 1 inch intervals.
Combine marinade ingredients in a large ziplock bag and marinate meat for several hours (overnight is best).
Grill or broil about 5-8 mins per side for medium rare (depends on the thickness of the meat).
Let the meat rest for about 15 minutes and then slice it as thin as possible on the diagonal going AGAINST the grain of the meat.
I think the key to avoiding toughness with london broil is marinating it, not overcooking it (it really needs to be on the rarer side), and slicing it VERY thin, making sure you slice across the grain (to cut through any tough fibers).

Re: Any great london broil recipes?
I'll def try this next time but I ended up doing it in the crockpot. I never really use soups/packages but I did it for this and I have to say it was delicious. Just mix together:
-1 packet low sodium brown gravy (McKormicks)
-1 packet HVRanch powder (I used a little less)
-1 packet Good Seasons Italian (i used a little less)
1 1/2 cups of water
Pour over london broil and cook on low until it is fork tender. Def a bit salty even though I used low sodium but SO good!

Re: Any great london broil recipes?
My all-time favorite London Broil marinade is:
1/2 cup oil 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup tomato juice 1/2 cup brown sugar LOTS of chopped garlic
It's ALWAYS a huge hit. After the meat goes on the grill, we microwave the remaining marinade for about a minute and use it as a dipping sauce.

Glad it worked out for you! I make it a lot. It's good for entertaining, because you can actually slice it and serve it at room temp on a buffet to be eaten by itself, or in a sandwich, or over a salad, etc.

THIS !
I tweeked it a bit and reduced the soy sauce, added a couple of shakes of worcestershire sauce. I pierce the london broil with a fork in a couple of places, marinate it overnight in a ziploc bag, then broil (I don't have a grill) Tastes fantastic hot or cold.
I also use this marinade on skirt steak.
