Any info on these 3 schools?
Just Kids- Lindenhurst ACLD-Bayshore DDI- Ronkonkoma
We have the opportunity to use just about any school , but these are the 3 our district places the most in and reccomended.
I know a little about Just kids. It is SUPER close to home...But I was so-so impressed when we did a visit.
I know nothing about the others.
I dont know about any others...I feel as if I may stick with Just kids b/c of its proximity but would love other opinions on places.
TIA!!

Re: Any info on these 3 schools?
I used to work at DDI-YAP in Ronkonkoma. Not sure if you are going for that or Starting Early. But both programs are really great for the children and they all end up doing very well there. In YAP the children do not get pulled for services...speech, OT and PT...it is worked on in the classroom since it is a 1:1 setting. I believe they do pull out in Starting Early since it is comprised of integrated classrooms with more children. HTH

Re: Any info on these 3 schools?
My DD went to Just Kids for 1 year. She went for Speech and OT for eating.
She did the half day program. It was very good. She was very happy and learned a lot. While the building is not new or particularly attractive, I was very happy with all that they offerred. She learned alot and always looked forward to going.
We went once a week to ACLD in Bayshore for a Social Skills Group. It was very nice to, but a lot smaller.
I'm not sure where you live, but they have a program similar to Just Kids located in East Islip. One of the reasons that I pick Just Kids is that it was close to home- we are in West Islip.
What ever you choose, ask for the bus. It made life sooooooo much easier with a new baby.

Re: Any info on these 3 schools?
My daughter goes to ACLD and I highly HIGHLY recommend them. She's been there for over a year and it's been a life changing place for us. She's received speech, OT, PT, feeding therapy, started out with ABA and now has a SEIT. Initially, Aurelia was placed in the autism room along with ABA. Within 2 months, she started to be integrated into a different classroom. Her current placement is in an integrated setting (5 kids are Head Start and 5 are special needs) with a SEIT 3 times a week. My biggest problem with the school is the parking lot! Please don't hesitate to FM if you have questions about the school..

DS goes to DDI in Ronk.. LOVE THEM. HE is in the Starting Early program, not YAP, not sure which program you need.
DS has made such strides there. The staff and facility is great. I have no complaints.
