any mommas can rec baby friendly places in downtown NYC?
hi mommas, dh and i want to take ds into the city around the world trade center area to meet up with friends also staying in that area. would you be able to recommend any baby friendly places to visit in that area? TIA!!

You can take the ferry ride to staten Island and back. It's free and you get to see the statue of liberty. You can walk across the Brooklyn bridge if it's not cold. You can walk to the seaport and look at the boats and shop at the mall. Stop by the bull and take pics. There is also an American Indian museum by the bowling green station. I'm pretty sure that admission is free. That's all I can think of.

The Seaport is closed due to Sandy - it's not scheduled to reopen until after their scheduled renovations take place.
There is a nice walkway along the Hudson between Battery Park and Tribeca (it goes all the way up the west side as well) with some nice small parks if it's a nice day.
There is a lot of construction down here now - between the WTC and the transportation hub - and many things are still closed as a result of Sandy.

World Financial Center is right across the West Side Highway from WTC and has a mall and restaurants. You can walk by the water and marina if it is mild. There is also now a shake shack nearby and some other low-key fun restaurants.
