Any mom's cut their DS's hair?
Last night DH and I bought a buzzer and we trimmed down DS's hair.
I was amazed how easy it was to give him a nice clean look and how much better it looks.
For the most part, we plan on doing his hair.
Does anyone else do this?
It's going to save some money too.
the buzzer kit was $14 and most places I looked charge $12 for a kid's hair cut plus tip so it is already paid for.

That's great...right now, DD doesn't have enough hair to cut
But I'm not sure I'd trust myself...though it seems as though it would be a great way to save $$

I wouldn't do DD's hair. I mean I have trimmed hairs here and there on her when there are knots I couldn't get out, but I wouldn't trust actually cutting her hair.

Re: Any mom's cut their DS's hair?
yes, I took cosmetology in HS...not that that really means anything b/c I haven't cut hair in ages, but if/when I do it I use a scissor. DS is petrified of the buzzer. I buzz DH's hair though. And my best friend is a hair dresser so she usually does DS' hair cause I took him to one of those kid places once and he threw a fit....what a nightmare that was!

suprisingly DS wasn't bothered by the buzzer.
Dh held him on his lap while I did it. I have never cut hair in my life.

Re: Any mom's cut their DS's hair?
We used the buzzer on DS for the first 3 years. He fussed a lot, but with the buzzer, you could almost keep the buzzer in one spot and just let him move his head all over to cut it all...
DW uses the buzzer on my head all the time. Much easier and cheaper than having it done at a barber.

I'm thinking of doing this too. We already have a buzzer because I do DH's hair.

I used to cut Noahs hair, I just hacked away at it with a nail scissor until it looked good. Now I take him to a proper salon, I don't trust just anyone with his golden locks!

Re: Any mom's cut their DS's hair?
YES!!! I posted about this a while ago. My DDs bangs grow so fast and its so annoying to spend $$ every month to trim them. My DH uses his buzzer to trim her bangs and to be honest, it comes out even better than the place. She likes the vibration on her nose and stays still when he does it.

Re: Any mom's cut their DS's hair?
I cut all my kids' hair. My DD is so easy - just trim the bangs and take a bit off the ends elsewhere. I use a buzzer for my boys - shorter on my 6 year old and I leave the 2 year old a little longer - he's a bit squirmy but it still comes out just fine. So simple, esp the boys, it's hard to make a mistake with a buzzer and an attachment . I always ended up hating how the barber did it (for $12 + tip). For some reason, they never get it right in his crown area. I do my DH with the buzzer too.
