I work in the area. There are two nail salons on Smithtown Blvd in Nesconset with ridiculous specials. One is $15 for a mani/pedi and the other is $18. I've been wanting to check one of them out but I am a little scared because of how cheap they are I would love for someone to go and check it out for me

I've been to the one in the shopping center on Smithtown Blvd where Ace is and it was actually pretty nice in there.

Ok I'm trying out the one just east of the ace shopping center. It's called BJL or something. It's completely empty and it smells like cigarettes lol.

Oh and there's a guy who works here who is like watching the girl like a hawk. It's so weird.

Ok so it was very awkward with the guy practically breathing down the poor girl's neck and another older guy watching an Asian cooking show. No one else came in so it was just me and the girl and the 2 men. Awkward! LOL. Good leg, foot, and hand massage with the special (which is $16, not $15). Pedi came out nice. Mani was decent but the polish is on a bit uneven. It's sort of my fault for picking a sheer color but it definitely could have used a 3rd coat.

Next time I'm going to try the Beauty Nail place that's over by Tate's Restaurant. But, i wouldn't rule this place out for a cheap mani/pedi special... wasn't terrible but I wouldn't pay full price. It definitely wasn't as nice as the one by Ace/CVS.

I made sure to check names this morning. Polished on Smithtown Blvd might be better. They have $16 special. I went there years ago and don't remember it being bad.

No frills place. No A/C, chairs were old (no massage chairs), looked run down.

I was the only one there the whole time.

One woman did my pedi and while I was in the chair, another woman started with my nails. I liked that!

Pedi was really good! She exfoliated my legs which felt amaazzzing b/c my legs were feeling itchy from some bug bites.

Back massage while nails were drying was good -- she used a rollerball thing (not sure what it's called!)

They kept complimenting me - said I had a pretty face, loved my jewelry, and that I had very soft nice skin lol.

Wouldn't go back for full price but for a $15 mani/pedi special, I may try them again.

Oh and the pedi woman was coloring the mani woman's hair as my nails were drying. Thought that was interesting lol.

I love the one on the corner of Smithtown Blvd and Lake Ave, right behind Marias. Thats where I go.

I live in St. James, my mom and sister are in Nesconset and we are constantly having a hard time finding a good place! We have tried the above places -- the one near Ace is nice but expensive and they bug you for massages constantly. The one that the above posters mentioned smelled and was weird with the guy watching is always like that - just odd! The other one, by Apline Bakery is just dirty inside and although the price is good it's just OK... the job they do is just alright as well. Then, there's another place behind Maria's Mexican restaurant, across from JT's Corner Cafe which I have not been to in a few years because one time I went there and they cut me SO bad in SO many places it was unreal ! So, I never went back - it's been a while, maybe they have changed??

The next one I'm going to give a try, as I work my way down Smithtown Boulevard LOL, is the new one in the same shopping center as Akropolis Greek Restaurant (the best Greek place ever, btw LOL) and across from the new Nesconset Library -- in that long shopping center I recently saw a new nail salon. I will try and report back if we end up going there.

The other place I went to that was bad was over by Maureen's Kitchen -- there used to be one in a stand-alone building "Pure Indulgence" which sounded like a strip club and that was HORRID and they closed. Then, there's another right next door in a little shopping center with just three stores -- a bar, a deli that is always going in and out of business lol, and then the nail place -- we tried there once and there was NO A/C in the dead of the summer.

It's not easy in Nesconset if you want a good, reasonably priced nail place!

I will continue on my quest, I will not waiver!!!

There is another place on Hawkins Ave in the strip mall behind BLD's. I have never been there but when I take DD to dance I usually see alot of people in there

Checked out the one in the Ace shopping center today, I believe it's called Essential Nail, and it was pretty good! They put the paraffin wax on your heels, which I like. The mani was okay but I did tell her I was in a rush to get back to work. I would go back. $25 for a mani/pedi. I checked out their price list though. They charge $30 for a gel mani, I only pay $25, so that was high.

I've always gone to Nails Relaxation Spa on Portion Rd in Ronkonkoma. Never had a complaint.

I ended up finding a random nail place in Islip Terrace I guess its considered. Its on Connetquot Ave. Is that too far for you ladies?? Its AMAZING!!!
