Any NYC Teachers Able to get Human Growth Hormone covered?
Hi ladies,
I know it's a longshot but I thought I would ask. I'm under DH's plan as he is a NYC teacher. Has anyone been able to get Human Growth Hormone covered under Medco or Pica? I know that it's almost never covered but thought I would ask since it's so expensive. Thanks.

Almost a year later and we're still trying to get it covered... It's soo expensive and DH takes it 2x a week! Medco/PICA said if doctor writes a letter stating it's a medical necessity (not just for infertility) then it could get covered but the cost hasn't changed yet. We order through Freedom Fertility and recently switched to the generic version (Novarel) and it's a little cheaper that way...

Thank you so much for responding...that's pretty much what I thought. I would only be using it for fertility treatment. URGH!! One good thing..i found out that I can use Omnitrophe which is supposed to be a generic/ similar to saizen and it only costs $250 a vial as opposed to $800!! Maybe you can look into that too if it's cheaper than the Novarel. Thanks again.
