Any NYC teachers here? IVF insurance question (GHI)
I was told by doctors office that they believe GHI covers 80% - is that true? I guess it doesnt matter since I don't know what 100% is. I'm afraid to find out. Does anyone know exactly what is covered?
Also if you are a teacher, did you tell your principal what was going on? I already had to leave early 2 days for tests. I knoe i'm already scheduled for another test on the first day of the ELA - they're not gonna be happy

yes 3 IVF cycles with a 20% coinsurance. And an IVF cycle counts as one fresh and one frozen transfer

Call the insurance company....all policies are different and the carrier can tell you exactly what is covered.

I am a NYC Teacher. I just got my first IVF cycle precertified. GHI covers 75% of it. You are entitled to 3 cycles a lifetime. I didn't know as someone posted above that a fresh and frozen cycle only equals 1 cycle..not 2. Hummm...

75% of....? excatly what was your cost?
Since I have to have DNA tests done pre-implantation does that mean all my cycles will be frozen? I'm so confused.
Did you tell your administration what you were doing? The doctor is all about his schedule only and the next date he scheduled a test for is the first day of the ELA. I'm afraid if I dont tell admin the truth they will be ******.
Sorry for all the questions. I just feel so confused with all the decisions to make.
Thanx so much for your help.

Hi,
I am not too sure about your particular situation but when I said 75% coverage I mean of all ART treatments, such as IVF, etc.
I had a heart to heart with my administration and they are going to work with me, for example when I arrive late for the morning appointments, etc.
Good luck!
