Any of you pregnant ladies have sinus problems
Is your Dr. allowing you to take anything? If so, what?
TIA

Re: Any of you pregnant ladies have sinus problems
I am using a neti pot as recommended by halisa -- it is great!! Actually I use the drug store version.....it's called Nasal irrigation or something like that - found above the nasal sprays...

Re: Any of you pregnant ladies have sinus problems
I have been - but I haven't been taking anything - just warm showers, steaming, humidifier, spicy foods, and extra fluids.
My doctor did say I can take things like allegra or claratin if I am having problems but to just check with him first. I have bad allergy problems though.

I take a benedryl here and there when it's really bad. As per the midwife at my practice.

Re: Any of you pregnant ladies have sinus problems
I had a bad sinus infection last week.
My Dr said I could use Afrin as needed, but try to take only when really bad and use the saline spray the rest of the time.
that and STEAM....

Re: Any of you pregnant ladies have sinus problems
my doc prescribed me saline and flonase for my nose. and for me not to blow my nose so hard because it will irritate the nasal area. so far it's been great!

Re: Any of you pregnant ladies have sinus problems
I have severe sinus issues too. I'm just suffering with them. One day, it was so bad I did take the Tylenol Sinus, but that was it. -Sorry so many of us have sinus problems!

Re: Any of you pregnant ladies have sinus problems
I have had terrible congestion through almost the whole pregnancy. My OB took pity on me in mid-Nov and gave me Flonase, and it made SUCH a difference. I wish she'd prescribed it sooner, but I wonder if it isn't safe for the tri.
NOTHING else worked for me. I tried Benadryl, Sudafed, Shower Soothers, plain old steam, hot washcloths on my face.

Re: Any of you pregnant ladies have sinus problems
my pulmonary doc mentioned it may be harmful during my first tri. luckily i was just ending my 2nd tri when we were discussing this (less than 2wks ago). i had a really bad case of asthma during xmas weekend where many doctors were on vaca.. great! it all started with sinus and weasing problems. i thought that was very unusal since my last case of asthma attk happ'd maybe 15yrs ago. doctor says it will come back for some preg women. asthma sux! hope none of you guys have to go through it!
