Any one a freelancer?
i am a licensed cosmetologist and i am looking to start doing makeup freelance. anyone have any tips on how to get started?

Try to become a vendor on LIWeddings and make a website of your work. Also, go to nail salons and hair salons and put your cards there. Another thing about hair salons...see if they need a make-up artist to come in and do freelance.
ETA: You could also start doing make-up parties where you teach woman how to apply make-up and achieve certain looks. I know I would be interested in learning how to achieve certain looks because I know I am not applying my make-up correctly!

I do graphic design & most of my work comes from word-of-mouth...e-mail your friends & family or put a post up on Facebook that you are offering this service...offer some "freebies" to friends & family for special events so people can see your work up close...nothing better as free advertising than someone at a wedding telling everyone who did their fabulous makeup job, right?
