Any one know what happened on Conklin Street in Farmingdale tonight

My family and I went to visit my grandpa in the hospital around 7:15 or so tonight and there was an ambulance rushing to get onto Conklin Street. Didn't think any thing of it. When we came back from the hospital almost two hours later, a large portion of the road was shut off with flares, firemen and police all over, yellow tape, the whole nine yards. My father freaked because my brother had been in school and some times leaves to go get some thing to eat up that way. Thank goodness he was fine. Just wondering if any of you girls heard or saw what happened? I don't have News 12 and I'm sure whatever it was, was big enough to be on there!! I just pray that whoever was in the accident/fire or whatever it was made it out alive.....

A man was hit by a car last night. He was taken to the hospital but he died. I believe the paper said he was 72 and was not crossing at a light.
