Any recommendations for a Manhattan hotel if you are staying with your DC?
We were thinking of taking DS to Manhattan, spending the day and staying overnight in a hotel for his 6th birthday. He is totally on board as he loves hotels. We will probably go to the Museum of Natural History so we'd like something not to far from that area. Any recommendations for something that is nice but not too expensive? TIA.

I stay in two hotels in that area when I travel into NYC.
The Lucerne on 79th between Broadway and Amsterdam
On the Ave in 70's on Broadway
I would say the Lucerne is probably better with a child. The rooms are larger and you have a better chance of an upgrade into a larger room.

the Kimberly has nice big suites - I stayed there 7 years ago though so I can't vouch for its current state and I stayed there on a business trip so I have no idea of the cost. It is in midtown so it's centrally located too, if that helps.
