Any recommendations for summer camp
I'd love to put my 5 year old in summer camp for possibly a 2 week session. We live in the Stony Brook area. Does anyone know of a good camp with reasonable prices in the area?

Re: Any recommendations for summer camp
Just an FYI, Brookhaven is NOT reasonable. They are VERY expensive! It's about $350-400 a week there.
Here is a link to the brochure for the Suffolk County Farm. My son went 2 summer's ago and is going again this year for a week. It's so much fun!! I highly recommend it for a five year old.

World Gym in Setauket (and coram) both offer Summer Camp. My son attended the Coram one 2 summer's ago and had a blast. I had an issue with how they handled an incident, but since it was their first year doing camp at that location, I think they were a bit lost. I think they have set a better "behavior" policy in place now. 2 weeks is $470.00 and you get a 5% discount if you register early. The hours are 8:30 to 3:30 and they have aftercare.
Also check with your town. My town (Brookhaven) offers a FREE supervised recreational program that is held at local parks. They do arts and crafts, sports, etc.
If you pick up a copy of the Newsday's parents magazine there are a lot of camps in there.

Knox up in Nissequogue. You can customize weeks and do not have to do a five day week. In terms of price, I think they are about average. But, they give you a separate rate for the bus, so if you are willing to drive you can save alot of money.

Laurel Hill day camp in setauket. I went there as a child and worked there as a teen. It's wonderful there.

Re: Any recommendations for summer camp
I went to Brookhaven as a child and worked there as a teen... I also worked at Laurel Hill for a few summers as a specialist... imo I like Brookhaven better
eta... most school districts also have summer rec programs which are much more affordable... I worked a few summers during/after HS there too...
