any recommendations on daycares from melville to syosset area.
I am preggo and need to find daycare for the baby in September 2010. I have already called a couple of places and they are already booked. I am beginning to freak out. My girls have been with family, but family may not be able for full time next year.
Anyone have suggestions on daycares or personal experience? I am looking for either home daycare (either mine or someone elses) or a location/place.
I called Bright Horizons but it was 2000 per month
thank you for help!!!!

I really don't have to much "personal" experience, but, there is:
Miss Dawn's Day Care on 110 (down by Bertuccis/Kohls)
SUNY Farmingdale has a center on campus open to anyone. (I used to work there, years ago)
and I *think* theres a center down by Republic Airport: Primetime (I think is the name)
Hope this helps a bit.
Im not to sure of any Kiddie Academys around there, but, I think they're good as well.
Good Luck

Are you looking for full time or part time? Where are you looking?

I work in Woodbury so I have my 4 month old son at Kiddie Academy in Syossett. I checked out a few places in the area and liked this place the best for certain reasons. So far I'm very happy and I see how happy Mason is and he's really thriving. For infants it's only a full time daycare b.c you can't share cribs.
I really loved Miss Debbie's in Plainview, but it's soooo pricey

We are on the waiting list for January at Prime Time in Farmingdale. I thought they were the cleanest place and the nicest staff we met. I put our name down in May and we were number 2 on the list.
They offer part-time and full-time.

DD used to go to Kiddie Academy in syosett - we really liked it there, but changed.
I also liked Tutor Time in Syosset, it was a draw and we chose Kiddie Academy b/c it was close to the train station.
There is also Prime Time in Farmingdale and Calling All Kids again in Melville. Both are good places.

We have our two children in PrimeTime, as do many of my coworkers.

There is also Munchkinland on Rt 109.
Last time I checked- SUNY F'dale gave priority to students and faculty.
