Any recs for a Historical fiction book like The Other Boleyn Girl?
I'm in the mood for a colonial American or English type book....I may even read the continuing Philippa Gregory books, but does anyone have any more suggestions? Thanks!

if you'd like to read more on the tudor's, i highly recommend innocent traitor by alison weir. i've read a lot weir's historical biographies, and innocent traitor is her first novel, about the lady jane grey. it's not as romance-y as the philppa gregory books, but i personally prefer less romance and more history.
sarah dunant's books are also very very good. they take place in italy, but if you like historical fiction, they are great. her first book was the birth of venus, followed by in the company of the courtesan. they're two separate stories, so you can read either one first.
the borgia bride was also very good, by Jeanne Kalogridis. she also wrote I, Mona Lisa which was also very good, also both set in italy. Can you tell I like historical fiction?

I like The Alienist & The Angel of Darkness by Caleb Carr. They are both really good and take place in the early 20th century.

I enjoyed Katherine by Anya Seton. It takes place in 14th century England and is also based on the royals...the Plantagenets...

I LOVED Katherine, I also really liked Green Darkness by Seton as well.
Other faves: The Last Boleyn (same story sorta, different author) Phillapa's Wideacre Trilogy The Pillars of the Earth Mary, Queen of France by Jean Plaidy Marie Antionette: The Journey by Antonia Fraser (non-fiction) Threads by Nell Gavin (interesting take on the story of Anne Bolyen and Henry VIII) The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant I have so many... but, I can't keep track. I just packed up all my books, so I can't even look on the book shelf to try to remember!

Pillars of the Earth was amazing!
I also loved Innocent Traitor by Alison Weir- I'd always wanted to read something about Lady Jane Gray. It was very good.
