Any reviews on Care Connect insurance?
Looks like my dh's employer is switching from Health Republic to Care Connect through NSLIJ. This really stinks for me since I'm in Suffolk and most NSLIJ hospitals are in Nassau.
Anyone have the plan and can tell me anything about it. I will have to find all new doctors.

South side hospital in bay shore is nslij and many doctors in the area accept the insurance.

I saw that and I guess that would be the closest hospital to me. I'm in Selden so still not that close.

We were happy with it. The only issues I had were at the time PM Pediatrics did not accept it, and it worried me to go out of state since NSLIJ were all here. Other than that we never had a problem. We switched because we were paying $900+ a month for a family plan (DHs plan at work would've been more with a higher deductible so we took the, off the exchange) and my new job offered benefits.

Thanks. That stinks because we use PM Pediatrics a lot since it's literally around the corner. But I see that City MD is participating, so I could always go there.

Re: Any reviews on Care Connect insurance?
We've had care connect for almost a year now. We too bought off the exchange since the benefits we were offered were twice as much with $50 co-pays. We now have $15 co-pays. I love the insurance; however I am in Nassau nearby NS and LIJ hospitals. Almost all doctors and specialists in this area accept the insurance. I too was a pm pediatrics fan and was bummed when I found I couldn't use them. I did use CityMD for the first time this week and I must say, I loved them. They were very thorough, attentive and went over and above for my son.
Hope that helps!

According to our insurance broker, Care Connect is supposed to be great. Health Republic is going out of business by 11/30/15.

Yes, I know. His employer is in a time crunch to find something quickly. And since they are in Nassau and so are most of their employees, they seem to be leaning toward this Care Connect. I'm disappointed, because I didn't want to have to find all new doctors. I have a lot of autoimmune issues and I love my doctors now. But I guess I have to deal with it to have coverage.

Re: Any reviews on Care Connect insurance?
Health republic is now no longer in existence. Care connect now is the lowest in cost on the exchange.

Re: Any reviews on Care Connect insurance?
This is good to hear. I'm moving over to Care Connect as all my docs are from the NSLIJ system anyway, and the Blue Cross Blue Shield we have now is super expensive and has outrageous deductibles. Can't wait to switch!

I have it and it's pretty good. My main problem at first was finding all new doctors. I go to a lot of specialists and my co pay is $50 but my precriptions have been very affordable ($10-$30 at most). I do find some things outrageous like my recent ER visit was $350 co pay but it was in the middle of the night and an emergency. All in all I do like it, NSLIJ is a great hospital and with the CityMd opening and participating that is a plus!
