Any suggestions for what to wear to a backyard wedding? Update
It's in September and we haven't gotten the invitation yet since they just started planning it. So I don't know what time of day it will be yet. So I guess I want something nice, but not too fancy. I was going to go with a simple fitted cocktail dress, but DH thought that was too fancy 
Update: got the invitation. It specifies Semi-formal. So would that mean cocktail dress, after all? I'm thinking a cute summer dress or maxi dress isn't semi-formal? Or is it?
Oh, and wedding is in the evening, with cocktail hour and reception to follow, if that makes a difference.

I would check out Mod Cloth.
They have tons of dresses that are nice, but not too formal.
Perfect for backyard weddings

I'd wear a dressier maxi dress (like a chiffony one) and metallic flat sandals. Hair up, big earrings.

I do think a cocktail dress would be too formal for a backyard wedding.
Like the pps suggested, Modcloth has some great options or a chiffon/dressy-ish maxi dress would be good. I wore this to a beach wedding in May and think it would be good for a backyard wedding too
