Any tips for getting DS to take medicine better?

We just had to start DS on zantac - he is 4 mos and we give it to him in a little dropper. It's the same problem as when we've had to give him tylenol - he either spits it out or drools it out almost immediately. I just gave it to him while he was laying on his changing table and had to hold his mouth closed to make sure he swallowed and it made me feel terrible Chat Icon

How do you get your DC to swallow the medicine any tips?

I put it in a nipple with a little bit of water and let them suck it down that way...

I give it to her right before she eats cause she'tt take anything when she is hungry.

When DD was on gripe water and mylicon, we had a medicine pacifier. It came in one of our "baby kits" with the nail clipper, thermometer, hair brush, etc. It was heaven-sent. If your DS takes a pacifier, you should look into getting one. Before DD knew anything was in the pacifier, she had already swallowed the meds.

Try putting the dropper on the inside of his cheek. Less choking and spitting out that way.

Yes we used to do this too but the gastro told me to give the zantac 15 minutes after the bottle
