DH and I are in the process of relocating to the Raleigh area. Right now, we're still in divide and conquer mode . . . he's there, I'm in NY. I'm not sure how much help I'd be, but I can certainly try to answer your questions.

Re: Any transplant North Carolina residents here? Specifically Raleigh?
We just started to talk about relocating there. I think we'll visit first and then take it from there. But we would also do it the way you're doing it. I would move down there with the kids first (its much easier for me to get a job down there) and then my husband would follow us permanently after he found a job there.
How is the construction business there?

There is a lot of building going on there, but I don't have any first hand knowledge of how it would be to get a construction job there. There are a lot of residential developments going up in the RTP area, as well as strip malls.

Construction business is CRAZY right now. RE market is super hot both for older homes and new homes. He will have no problem getting a position with a builder. What does he do? Does he have his own business? Want to work with a builder? My husband has some builders as clients so may be able to help him. How old are your children?

My husband does commercial construction and he is a project super/foreman. My kids are 7 and 2. I'm in legal/insurance business. When we're coming to visit I would love to meet up!
