i think it really depends on the person.
I went a long time ago and i thought it was kinda cheesy.
Other friends of mine really like it.

And yes IMO i would def dress casual...

unless you want to do in the medieval garb

Interesting question! I don't remember it stinking. (I mean, they serve food---it would be totally gross if you had to eat amongst that smell!) But allergies, that may be an issue. There's lots of hay around, from what I remember.

My uncle and his fiance just went and loved it that they were gonna have their wedding there but their prices were ridiculous for what you got. but he said the show was cool and the food was good too.

It's not that long.

You have to eat with your hands!

I went to the one in FL ages ago. From what I remember, you are sort of up in levels above the jousting area, I don't remember being that close to the animals. It was cheezy, but fun as a one time thing. I don't know if I would go back.

Oh, and what goes on is they serve you a meal "medieval style" so you have no silver ware and you drink out of this pewter type mug. Then they put on a show that is mainly horse riding and jousting. Every section gets assigned a knight that they are supposed to root for. I would just go in jeans or casual clothes.

it is pretty big. And the animals (from what i remember) were usually in particular areas that can be avoided!

A bunch of us went about a year ago. It was fun - something different.

Very casual dress (there were a lot of kids) and the horses (which bother me too) were not an issue for my allergies at all.

It is a little pricey, but the food was good and it was entertaining.

I been to the one in FL, but I believe its the same thing. Its fun. You get to eat with your hands "traditional Medieval food". You eat chicken and I believe fried potatoes (not fries). They have joust contests. It was good!

I have been DYING to go-- I have a historical fiction obsession and I have always thought that this was something fun to do... I mean-- not expecting a good meal or anythingl.. but, I think it would be funny.

Its not bad. Its like.... ok. Something to try once. The contests they do are cool and they get the crowd into it.

The food is kinda average at best. But I guess you are really going for the show.

I doubt your allergies will be an issue. There aren't many horses there... and its not like you are real close to them... you can request a back row if you think it would be that bad.

you'll be fine with the allergies - I was perfectly fine, and I'm allergic to everything..

Oh, and I went with a plastic knife and fork in my bag...cornish hen is HARD to eat in the dark, with your fingers!

We had a good time - I got to the the PRINCESS!!! I still have the sash and hat somewhere....

OMG, if you are allergic to horses, DO NOT GO.

I went last year as part of a work event. One of my colleagues stopped breathing and an ambulance had to revive her.

And, she never even knew that she was allergic to horses!

I am allergic to horses and I was fine. We were even in the front row right next to them.

I guess everyone reacts differently.
