Wow! It is really beautiful! The layout of the kitchen is very strange though.

Re: Anybody have 3 million to spare
It's beautiful. My cousin is the Deputy Mayor of Lawrence and he says they always vote their school budgets down.
So that house would be $20K in taxes AND a declining school district.

I work in the lawrence public schools and its only been recently (last 3 yrs) that the budget has been voted down. Up until this point lawrence was considered one of the best school districts on long island. We'll see what the future holds......

It's really nice, but for $3 million, I'd want some property. It's not a huge house and the neighbors are right on top of you. JMO

It's a shame what has happened to that district - it's definitely not the same school DH went through.

The ironic thing is that the town is as wealthy as ever... there is just a very religious Jewish population that sends their kids to the Hebrew Academy and refuses to support the public schools. My cousin said it's ridiculous because several of the board members were elected and they have their kids in private school Appparently their objective is to just veto whatever budget comes up.
My Dad sent me to parochial school but he never complained about the school taxes, always voted for the school budget and always supported public education for anyone else.

Yes, that's what we heard too. I don't know how they got elected to the board if their kids don't even go to the school - that seems arse backwards to me.

I completely agree. For that kind of money, you should get quite a bit of land.
